Know where every camera, drive and package is.
Gear goes out with crew, drives go to post, and packages move between locations. BacklotHub gives every item a tag, records who has it, keeps a searchable index of what is on each hard drive, and shows live carrier status for everything that is shipping.
Who uses it most: Production coordinators, post supervisors, DITs and whoever handles shipping.
What’s included
Inventory with real asset tags
Every item gets a short, sequential tag for its sticker, and tags are never reused. You can see what each crew member has signed out.
Bulk import
Load your existing gear list from a spreadsheet instead of retyping it.
Hard-drive indexing
Scan a drive’s folders from the browser and attach a searchable file index to that drive’s record, with an AI summary of what is on it.
Drive transfers with a safety check
Record contents moving from one drive to another. The operator has to type the destination drive’s tag before anything changes.
Shipping requests from anyone
Crew and staff fill in a shipping request form with no login. The request email shows carrier rates, and you can buy a label from a secure link or add a tracking number.
Live carrier status
The In Transit board shows each shipment’s real carrier status and ETA. Deliveries are announced once and confirmed on the board when received.
How it runs on a real week
Step 1
Tag and log gear as it comes in.
Step 2
Someone needs a drive sent to post, so they fill in the shipping form.
Step 3
Pick a rate from the email and buy the label.
Step 4
Watch it on the In Transit board until it arrives, then confirm receipt.
